Neuroanesthesia Fellowship Program

The Division of Neuroanesthesiology at Montefiore Medical Center is excited to offer one Neuroanesthesiology Fellowship each year. The fellow works in the OR and the Neurointerventional Suite, participating in both pediatric and adult elective and emergency cases.

Clinical Experience

The fellow will spend one month learning Intraoperative Neurointerventional Monitoring and will have the opportunity to pursue an elective month in Neurocritical Care or Neuroradiology. With guidance from our Neuroanesthesia attending physicians, the fellow will have the opportunity to work on a range of complex cases. Montefiore Medical Center has more than 1,600 elective and urgent Neurosurgical and Neurointerventional cases annually that include pediatric and adult vascular, tumor, spinal cord and spine, chronic pain, stroke and epilepsy interventions as well as craniofacial remodeling.

Educational Experience

The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary lectures with the departments of Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, and Stroke and Epilepsy Neurology, as well as case conferences, didactic lectures, and quality improvement review sessions. In addition, the fellow will attend monthly interdisciplinary Intra-Arterial Stroke management meetings. The fellow will plan and lead a weekly Journal Club for residents rotating in Neuroanesthesia, develop and conduct a research project, and attend two national Neuroanesthesia or Neurocritical Care meetings. We encourage fellows to participate in conferences at the local and national levels.
