Clinical 3-D Printing Success

Through the joint efforts of the Pediatric Rehabilitation team at Montefiore and the PM&R and Burn Departments at Jacobi Medical Center, we have successfully fabricated an upper extremity prosthesis for a child with amniotic band syndrome.

Thanks to some generous help from the Titi Fund, we now have 3D scanning and printing available at the Montefiore Moses campus. The new equipment will be used to print upper extremity prosthetics and orthotics for both adult and pediatric populations. In the future we hope to expand our 3D printing program internationally to assist patients in El Salvador and Honduras.

If you have a patient who you feel may benefit from a 3D-printed prosthesis please contact kmenze@montefiore.org or ksilva@montefiore.org.
