Thomas Aldrich MD Fund
Thomas K. Aldrich, MD
1950 - 2016
Father, Husband, Educator, Clinician
The Thomas Aldrich, MD Fund was created by the Aldrich family to further enhance the training of Fellows and students by the creation of a named lectureship and the creation of a fund to encourage educational excellence in an ever changing Pulmonary Critical Care field. This Fund will carry on Tom's legacy of commitment to encouraging the highest quality, thoughtful medical care, encouraging each Pulmonary Fellow to be the most skilled, analytic, yet compassionate and understanding physician he/she can be, and to encourage Fellows to pursue research and re-ignite the value of questioning and exploring, so that they may develop better modes of patient care.

About Dr. Aldrich:
Dr. Thomas K. Aldrich was born on September 11, 1950. After graduating from Swarthmore College in 1972 and the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1975, he trained in Internal Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Virginia and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He then began a long career as Professor of Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. He was passionate about his patients, his fellows’ success, and his research. Known for his dedication to helping others, Dr. Aldrich coordinately received great satisfaction from both his patient care and scholarly work. Yet he was multidimensional, and pursued avocations of tennis, ice hockey and of course time with his family.
