Our assembled specialists collaborate across several premier multi-disciplinary clinics that seek to look beyond individual symptoms to treat the entire patient, addressing the full range of brain and spine disorders, including neurovascular, movement, spinal, and neuromuscular disorders, along with brain tumors, stroke, epilepsy, and pediatric disorders of the brain and spine.

Our team also provides evaluation and support for the behavioral, cognitive, and emotional dimensions of brain and spine disorders as well as mental health services for caregivers..

In addition to multi-disciplinary outpatient evaluations, the CBHC provides onsite CT and MRI imaging and the latest neuro-diagnostic testing tools, including electroencephalography (EEG), for precise and timely diagnoses of even the most complex conditions

Our Comprehensive Brain Health Center is now open in Westchester.

Offering integrated, state-of-the-art care that combines the world-renowned expertise of our Departments of Neurosurgery, Psychiatry and Neurology at one location

Our Services

At the Comprehensive Brain Health Center, we use the latest, noninvasive diagnostic testing and imaging technologies to support our board-certified neurologists, neurosurgeons, and psychiatrists in establishing the most accurate diagnoses and treatment plans for our patients so that we may offer the best possible health outcomes.

Our diagnostics include:

Electroencephalography (EEG)

EEG, a non-invasive diagnostic modality, entails recording the electrical activity of the cerebral cortex. The methodology is frequently employed to scrutinize the impact of various pathologies, including but not limited to epilepsy and sleep disturbances, on cerebral function.

Electromyography (EMG)

Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostic technique that involves measuring and recording the electrical activity of muscles in order to diagnose neuromuscular disorders and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments such as physical therapy. EMG can also be used to guide surgeons when they are performing nerve-related surgeries.

Nerve-conduction studies (NCT)

Nerve conduction studies are diagnostic tests that measure the speed and strength of signals sent through a nerve. They can be used to diagnose problems with the peripheral nervous system, such as carpal tunnel syndrome or other forms of nerve damage.

Computed Tomography (CT)

Computed Tomography, is a diagnostic imaging technique that harnesses X-rays, magnetic fields, and advanced computational algorithms to construct high-resolution 3D images of internal structures and organs within the human body. It’s employed extensively to detect a wide range of medical maladies, encompassing but not limited to tumors, infections, blockages, and other pathologies. Of note, CTs are especially effective in detecting abnormalities in soft tissue.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, known as MRI, is an advanced medical imaging modality that employs potent magnetic fields and radio waves to generate highly detailed and intricate 3D images of the internal organs and structures of the human body. This technique is especially useful in detecting and diagnosing various pathological conditions, such as cancer and stroke.

Neuropsychological Evaluation

Neuropsychological testing involves assessment of areas of functioning that may be affected by brain disorders such as memory, attention, emotions, language, information processing, visuospatial skills, and, executive functions such as organization and planning. A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation helps provide a more complete understanding of how a brain disorder has affected an individual as part of a road map for rehabilitation.
