Montefiore Einstein Center for Bioethics
The Montefiore Einstein Center for Bioethics draws together the expertise necessary to promote reasoned analysis of complex ethical issues in health care.
The Center is active in many areas, including education, policy development, research and clinical work. The Center runs an active bioethics consultation service and bioethics committee and promotes ethics education and scholarship within and beyond the institution.
- Bioethics Consultation. The Center provides bioethics consultation to providers, patients, family members, and designated representatives for challenging medical decisions in which important values are at stake.
- Bioethics Committee. Members of the committee meet regularly to analyze bioethical issues, develop hospital policy, review cases and promote bioethics education.
- Bioethics Education: The Center offers bioethics education to medical students, house staff, and other associates throughout Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
