Cardiac Wellness Program - Frequently Asked Questions - New York - Montefiore Medical Center
How much does it cost to attend the Cardiac Wellness Program?
The Cardiac Wellness Program sessions are free of charge to patients. The program is funded entirely through philanthropy.
Will I be able to stop taking my prescription medications if I adopt this diet?
That depends on the medical history and circumstances of each individual patient. Some patients have been able to discontinue medications or greatly reduce their dose. For other patients, medications remain a crucial part of maintaining good health. Adopting a plant-based diet can result in major improvements in your health regardless of whether you require medicine.
Is it expensive to maintain a plant-based lifestyle?
No! In fact, it is often less expensive over the long-term because you will be eliminating some of the most costly foods from your grocery list. You will learn more about shopping on a budget at our educational session.
