Montefiore Einstein and Honorary Chairman Paul Ammirato present A Taste of Italy—an evening of food, wine, and music inspired by the Little Italy neighborhood in the Bronx. The event raises funds to support the Phoebe H. Stein Child Life Program at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM). CHAM’s Child Life Program complements medical treatment by focusing on the emotional and developmental needs of pediatric patients through medical play, procedural preparation, art and music therapy, and bereavement support.

Honoring
Chillin’ with Adam: The Adam Gaynes Foundation and Xenia Green, Rn, Children's Hospital at Montefiore
This year, we honor the Gaynes family—parents Arlene and David and their children Taylor and Lindsay—and our Child Life Program. Arlene and David founded Chillin’ With Adam: The Adam Gaynes Foundation in 2004 after their 11-year-old son Adam lost his brave battle with cancer. Through its foundation, the Gaynes family helps elevate the experience of patients and their families who are coping with treatments for a variety of diseases—letting kids be kids despite their illnesses or injuries. CHAM has been a longstanding recipient of the Foundation’s philanthropy through its many patient-centric, support-focused programs.

“There is no better reward than a child’s smile,” said Arlene and David Gaynes of the benefits of CHAM’s programs. “We believe in these doctors’ vision and share their values and goals to help children live like children while fighting a very real war against their disease. The smiles we see help us live easier, fuller lives while staying close to Adam’s spirit so he lives on in others.” Please join us as we honor the Gaynes family and support the critical work of CHAM’s Child Life Program.

On behalf of our physicians, staff, patients, and families, we hope to see you in the garden!
