Kaitlyn S. Philips, DO
Kaitlyn Storey Philips, DO, is Assistant Medical Director, Pediatric Quality at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team, her clinical focus has been pediatric hospital medicine, quality improvement and patient safety, and the prevention of central-line associated bloodstream infections.
In 2007, Dr. Philips received her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, Health, and Society at Cornell University, College of Human Ecology. She continued her studies at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where she received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012. Her postgraduate training began in 2012 with a 4-year internship and residency in Pediatrics at Goryeb Children’s Hospital, Atlantic Health System, becoming Chief Resident in her final year. She obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Research Methods through the Clinical Research Training Program at Einstein.
Expanding from her clinical interests, Dr. Philips’ research focuses on quality improvement and patient safety in transitions of care and improving sepsis recognition and management throughout Montefiore.
In 2018, Dr. Philips received the Pediatrics Department Research Day Oral Presentation Award from CHAM for her work on improving the discharge medication process at a tertiary care children’s hospital.
Dr. Philips is board certified by the American Heart Association and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Academic Pediatric Association.
