Jonathan B. Gill, MD
- Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
An attending physician at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) since 2009, Dr. Gill treats children and young adults with bone and soft tissue sarcomas. He is also engaged in the care of children and young adults diagnosed with leukemias and lymphomas, and he is a member of the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation team at CHAM.
Dr. Gill’s research focus is on developmental therapeutics. This work involves early-phase clinical trials of new agents in the treatment of cancer, with the ultimate goal of defining new medicines that will improve the survivorship of children living with cancer. These early-phase trials involve industry-sponsored studies, multi-institutional collaborations and institutional-initiated studies, started here at CHAM.
Dr. Gill received his MD degree from the UCLA School of Medicine, and he trained at The Mount Sinai Hospital, completing a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. He completed his subspecialty training in pediatric hematology and oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. During that time, he was named chief fellow. His research focused on the structure and function of a novel oncoprotein and its role in hematologic stem cell maturation.
