Academic Title
Associate Professor, Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, Pediatrics, and Neurology
Administrative Title
Director, Neuro-Ophthalmology and Ocular Pathology Service
Clinical Focus
Dr. Zhang specializes in pediatric neuro-ophthalmology and strabismus. He is particularly interested in the following areas: congenital and acquired nystagmus; cranial nerve palsy with or without diplopia (double vision); hereditary optic nerve diseases (atrophy) or acquired optic neuropathy, and benign intracranial hypertension or psudotumor cerebri.
Research Focus
Dr. Zhang has been studying various forms of hereditary or acquired forms of optic nerve diseases and optic atrophy. He is actively conducting research on developing new therapy for optic nerve degenerative diseases.
