Education

At Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital and Academic Medical Center for Albert Einstein College of Medicine, today’s pioneers educate the next generation of leaders. Montefiore provides residents and other healthcare professionals a unique opportunity for hands-on training in one of the most diverse urban areas in the country — one where the population is global, the disease burden is high, and the need for quality care is great.

Education initiatives include:

Patient Health Library

Our patient health library includes more than 6,000 topics relating to healthcare services, treatments and medications that help patients and their families quickly and easily find answers to their health concerns, 24 hours per day. Become a more informed patient.

Grand Rounds

As part of Montefiore Medical Center’s commitment to education, we routinely hosts grand rounds, formal meeting at which physicians discuss important medical issues and the clinical case of one or more patients. Find out which grand rounds are being held at Montefiore this week.

Partnership with Albert Einstein College of Medicine

The partnership has resulted in broad synergies and collaborations—advancing clinical and translational research to accelerate the pace at which new discoveries become the treatments and therapies that benefit patients and training the next generation of healthcare leaders. Learn more about our partnership with Einstein.

Residency and Fellowship Information

Through our medical residency program, one of the top 10 in the country, Montefiore provides postgraduate clinical training to more than 1,250 residents across 106 accredited residency and fellowship programs.

Our progressive focus on comprehensive rather than fragmented care provides the ideal training ground for healthcare leaders of the future. To remain on the cutting-edge of training, we develop and expand programs that advance teamwork, communication and decision-making. These programs, coupled with Montefiore’s mission and vision draw residents from top medical schools, including Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Harvard Medical School and Yale School of Medicine, who are particularly committed to increasing access to excellent care in an underserved population. Many stay on to make their careers here. Forty-six percent of our doctors have trained at Montefiore. Learn more about our residency and fellowship programs.

Continuing Medical Education

The Center has produced hundreds of CME activities and offers CME credit to thousands of practitioners.

Recognizing the vital importance of developing and embracing innovative techniques and treatments, we are committed to the utilization of resources for the advancement of physicians’ educations and delivery of care. Allied and Other Health Professional Training

Montefiore offers several allied and other health professional programs for clinical health care professions that are distinct from Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry. Because some of these professions are more specialized in nature, they must adhere to national training and education standards, as well as the professional scope of practice.

Montefiore helps meet these needs through our Physician Assistant Program, Pharmacy Program and Psychology Program. Learn more about these professional training programs
