Residency

Residency Training is primarily carried out at Montefiore's Moses and Weiler Divisions, and also at Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital. The structure and operation of the orthopaedic training program are defined by Montefiore’s Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (program Director of the Residency Training Program) in collaboration with the Directors of Orthopaedic Surgery at Jacobi Hospital and at North Central Bronx Hospital.

Residency training includes:

  • Call-room space and state-of-the-art facilities at Weiler Hospital designated for orthopaedic residents
  • Weekly grand rounds and didactic lectures at Moses and Jacobi
  • Two year rotating curriculum for each subspecialty area
  • Guest lecturers in all areas of orthopaedic surgery
  • A monthly Multidisciplinary Musculoskeletal Oncology Conference to discuss and plan the management of new cases of patients with musculoskeletal tumors
  • Annual Anatomy Course to solidify resident knowledge of relevant musculoskeletal anatomy
