Mordecai Koenigsberg, MD, has served as Professor of Radiology and Director of the Ultrasound Division in the Department of Radiology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine since 1992 and Director of the Radiology Residency Program since 1997. A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Koenigsberg received residency training in pediatrics and in radiology & nuclear medicine at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. He is board certified in pediatrics, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic radiology and has experience in all facets of diagnostic ultrasound (abdominal, renal, pelvic, obstetric, musculoskeletal, scrotal, thyroid, salivary gland, lymph node, breast, cardiac, ophthalmic and vascular examinations). He is particularly interested in techniques for ultrasound guidance of interventional procedures, Doppler applications for elucidating physiological flow data, ultrasound tissue signature assessment and the diagnosis of fetal anomalies. Dr. Koenigsberg is a member of an Ultrasound Tissue Signature sponsored by the National Science Foundation and a member of the Diagnostic Research Advisory Group of the National Cancer Institute. A former research associate at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, he has served as an examiner for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the American Board of Radiology, as well as Ultrasound Section Panel Chair for American College of Radiology Diagnostic Radiology In-Training Examination. Dr. Koenigsberg has also contributed numerous publications to radiology literature.
