Application to the Montefiore Einstein Cardiology Training Program

Applicants should submit applications via Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Both J-1 and H1B visas are sponsored.

FAQs

Q: Why train at Montefiore Einstein? 

A: Montefiore Einstein offers excellent clinical cardiology training in all aspects of cardiology with guidance from a congenial and supportive faculty. Graduates are prepared for rewarding careers in any area of cardiology. There is a broad mix of pathology and severity within the population served.

Q: Where do fellows live? Is there housing? 

A: Fellows choose to live in many surrounding area communities, including Manhattan, Westchester, and the Bronx. Housing is available but not guaranteed.

Q: Do I need a car? 

A: No. All clinical sites are reachable by public transportation or hospital shuttles. However, many fellows choose to have cars depending on where they live.

Q: With such a large fellowship program, will I have mentorship?

A: Yes. Although the Montefiore Einstein cardiology fellowship is large, there are many opportunities to collaborate and find mentors among the faculty. One benefit of participating in such a large fellowship program is that it allows for more opportunities for finding mentors with a wide range of interest and expertise.

Q: With a large fellowship, will I have the ability to perform procedures?

A: Yes, although the Montefiore Einstein cardiology fellowship is large, there are very busy clinical services, CCUs, and procedure labs; there are plenty of procedures to go around.

Q: I am interested in subspecialty training. Is Montefiore Einstein the right fit for me?

A: Yes. Montefiore Einstein cardiology fellowship takes pride in training excellent clinical cardiologists who are well prepared for further training in any cardiology subspecialty, including interventional/structural, heart failure, and electrophysiology. The subspecialty matches in previous years have been extremely successful, with many fellows choosing to remain at Montefiore Einstein. Others choose to continue their training at other reputable local or national institutions.

Q: I am interested in a non-invasive career. Is Montefiore Einstein the right fit for me?

A: Yes. The Montefiore Einstein cardiology fellowship takes pride in training excellent clinical cardiologists who are well-prepared for non-invasive careers in any setting. Our graduates agree: the training program at Montefiore Einstein prepares them for “anything.”

Q: I am interested in a research career. Is Montefiore Einstein the right for me?

A: Yes. Montefiore Einstein cardiology fellows are trained to excel in basic science research labs. Additionally, fellows may take part in the Clinical Research Training Program, a master of clinical research program in conjunction with training.
