Montefiore Advanced Lung Disease Program

Montefiore's Advanced Lung Disease Program provides comprehensive and interdisciplinary services, treatment and surgical options in one convenient location. Montefiore's Advanced Lung Disease Program is the only provider of lung transplant surgery, interstitial lung service and advanced emphysema treatment in the Bronx community.

Together with Montefiore’s Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and Department of Medicine, Advanced Lung Disease Program at Montefiore brings together teams that include pulmonologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists who specialize in pulmonary hypertension, radiologists, rheumatologists and other related specialists to provide groundbreaking care for patients with complex medical conditions.

Our team of nationally-recognized doctors brings extensive lung transplant experience to Montefiore’s Advanced Lung Disease Program. Our specialists have achieved outcome rates that are higher than the national average, and they have performed a combined total of more than 1,000 lung transplants throughout their careers. In addition, our team has performed complex cardiac surgery for patients experiencing lung failure and other pulmonary issues, as well as patients who require lung surgery as part of their cancer treatment.
