Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart and Vascular Care is known for its innovation and clinical excellence, offering novel treatments for the most complex cases and advancing the field of cardiovascular care through pioneering research. Directed by internationally acclaimed experts, the Center offers a range of services including cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology, arrhythmia services and the most advanced surgical care for valve repair, aneurysms and heart failure, and provides some of the best outcomes in the state, including the highest one-year transplant survival rate. The Society of Thoracic Surgeons has repeatedly awarded the Center a three star rating for its cardiovascular surgery program, the highest category of quality given to only approximately 12 percent of participating hospitals in the United States. With an ongoing commitment to research, the Center is fostering breakthroughs in the genetics of heart disease and the application of stem cells to treat heart conditions, and has received a National Institutes of Health multi-million-dollar grant to study improvements in mitral valve repair and atrial fibrillation surgery.
