Program Components

Clinical Neurosurgery

A minimum of 36 months are spent in rotations at the participating hospitals. The rotations are structured at both the junior and senior levels with a final year as chief resident. Each rotation is for a 6 month period. The program is organized to ensure a graded and increasing level of responsibility as the resident progresses through the rotations. Since the Department is organized along subspecialty lines, there is concentrated experience in the areas of cerebrovascular disease, tumors, spine, functional and pediatric neurosurgery.

Neurology and Neuroradiology

A 3-month rotation in clinical neurology is provided as well as a 3-6 month rotation in both diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology.

Research Fellowship

Twelve months are spent in laboratory or clinical research designed according to the individual resident's interests. Opportunities exist for participation in a wide array of programs either within the Department or the entire Neuroscience program of AECOM. An alternative of enfolded fellowships in Interventional Neuroradiology, Spine Neurosurgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery are available.
