Molly Somberg Gunther, MD, MPA, is an Attending Radiologist at Montefiore. Her clinical focus is in gastrointestinal and genitourinary imaging, with particular interest in prostate and gynecologic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Dr. Somberg Gunther graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University in 2007 as a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She then attended New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2013, graduating as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During medical school, she concurrently completed a Masters of Public Administration, specializing in Health Policy and Management, from NYU Wagner School of Public Service. In 2014, Dr. Somberg Gunther then went on to complete an internship in Internal Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, followed by a Diagnostic Radiology residency in 2018 and a fellowship in Body MRI in 2019.
Following her clinical focus, Dr. Somberg Gunther’s research interests center on prostate and gynecologic imaging, as well as quality improvement. Her work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Somberg Gunther is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology. She is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and the New York Roentgen Society.
