Diagnostic Radiology Residency

Take the Diagnostic and Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency & Fellowship Programs Virtual Tour

See why so many applicants choose Montefiore-Einstein

Montefiore offers highly competitive residency programs in both Diagnostic Radiology and Integrated Interventional Radiology. Montefiore is a diverse health system encompassing multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities throughout the Bronx and Westchester County, with a focus on population health and stellar patient outcomes.

Our training programs are focused at Montefiore’s primary tertiary referral medical center, an academic community hospital on the Einstein Medical School campus, and at a large multidisciplinary outpatient center, all regional centers of excellence. Our residents learn in both inpatient and outpatient environments, with exposure to a range of unique pathology, and they participate in both clinical and translational research.

Montefiore Radiology Cares

Montefiore cares. We engage our residents in clinical discussion, provide opportunity and support through mentorship and research opportunities, and help them grow to be their very best. Our reading rooms are collaborative, engaging, and allow residents to demonstrate progressive skill and ability. We provide faculty supervision at all levels and emphasize our residents’ ability to achieve independence. Our residents graduate confident, capable, and proud.

Our programs are fully accredited by the ACGME and consistently train intelligent, hardworking and well-rounded radiologists. Our curriculum reflects real-world practice, sub-specialty excellence, and gives senior resident flexibility to pursue specialty concentration. We take great pride in our residents' superior fellowship and job placement records.

A Legacy of Excellence

Upon graduation, our radiology residents:

  • perform and interpret all diagnostic imaging examinations.
  • direct imaging workups in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • perform minimally invasive biopsies and interventions.
  • participate in and lead quality improvement projects.
  • maintain competence through independent ongoing learning and quality improvement feedback.

Senior residents trained at Montefiore are confident and secure in their technical and diagnostic abilities and function independently in all modalities.

Diversity and Inclusion

Montefiore Radiology is committed to promoting, supporting and providing a training and lifelong learning environment for a diverse community of students, trainees, faculty, and staff. We emphasize inclusionary policies at all levels and towards all individuals, and hope to engage and enrich our community and ourselves through fairness, honesty, and opportunity.
