Breast Imaging Fellowship
The Breast Imaging Fellowship at Montefiore is a one-year program providing comprehensive training in all areas of breast imaging. The fellow is an integral part of the breast imaging radiology team, working with members of the Departments of Breast Surgery, Oncology, Pathology and other specialties to create the best possible outcome for each patient.
Fellows are exposed to a broad spectrum of pathology, a high volume of cases, state-of-the-art technology, a friendly work environment and research opportunities. Fellows will gain expertise in interpreting screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound and breast MRI. Fellows will become proficient in performing image-guided procedures, including stereotactic, ultrasound and MR-guided biopsies and needle localizations.
The Breast Imaging Fellowship program combines extensive hands-on experience with comprehensive didactic training and research. In addition to daily hands-on experience, fellows present cases at the multidisciplinary breast tumor board and participate in teaching residents and medical students. Fellows are also given the opportunity to take part in or spearhead ongoing research projects.
