A new collaborative program, Einstein Discover Research Program, funded by Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center (MECC) and the Harold and Muriel Block Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR), gives aspiring scientists from underrepresented groups a boost into cancer research and biomedical careers. “It was such a great opportunity to learn skills that weren’t taught at my school,” said Sovira Chaudhry, who graduated with a Master in Science degree last year from the pilot program, after working in the Charles Query lab. A rousing send-off for NYPD’s NY Finest Baseball Team’s Colombia Goodwill Trip by Philip O. The team conducted youth baseball clinics and further spread the team spirit and joy of sports through a generous baseball and soccer equipment donation, making sports participation possible for more children. Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care-Westchester recently opened its new radiology suite in Elmsford, New York. The suite offers the latest equipment, bringing state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostics to the residents of Westchester, and almost any imaging exam can now be performed on-site. “We’re able to draw on the expertise of our large radiology department. More than 50 subspecialized radiologists will read these cases,” said Mark C. Liszewski, MD, Director, Division of Pediatric Radiology, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore; Vice Chair, Outpatient Imaging, and Associate Professor, Radiology and Pediatrics, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
