May 3, 2012 Offers New Look, New Content, New Functionality

New York City, NY (May 03, 2012) – Montefiore Medical Center launches its completely redesigned web site today. With a user-friendly interface, clean and modern graphic design and multimedia tools, improved functionality, including mobile access, and new content, the site will serve as a vital resource for visitors and better connect the medical center with its patients and their families, as well as physicians and other clinical staff. Features include an intuitive “Find a Doctor” tool, allowing patients to search by doctor name, location or specialty, simplifying what can be a complicated process. To better inform and engage Spanish-speaking visitors, many sections are available in both English and Spanish.

The new site better reflects our mission, vision and values, while positioning Montefiore as a premier academic medical center,” said Cynthia Hayes, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Marketing, Communications and Media Relations. “Approximately 80 percent of Internet users search for health information on the web so it’s important that Montefiore has a robust and sophisticated online presence. Our aim is to facilitate communication about Montefiore’s strength in clinical care, as well as the research and education that drive our excellence and serve as a foundation for our unwavering commitment to the community we serve.”

Key content areas include information about Montefiore’s primary and specialty care capabilities, its partnership with Albert Einstein College of Medicine, educational programs, clinical research activity, Montefiore’s patient portal, which provides online access for enrolled patients to their physicians and test results, appointment scheduling, health records and prescription refills, a calendar of events for consumers and professionals, as well as a section on programs in and for the community.
