Mental Health Parity May Hold Key to Solving Suicide and Opioid Crises

Dr. Bruce Schwartz, deputy chairman, clinical director and professor, Psychiatry and Clinical Science, Montefiore Einstein, urged the Senate to fight suicide and opioid overdose deaths by improving insurance coverage for mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Dr. Schwartz participated in a panel discussion which took place during an American Psychiatric Association briefing on Capitol Hill.
