Coverage of a recent study, conducted by Ileana L. Piña, M.D., associate chief, Division of Cardiology, Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart & Vascular Care, that investigated the effects of exercise training in patients with heart failure and found that exercise training reduced the risk for subsequent hospitalization or death in women by 26 percent, compared with 10 percent in men. The study recently was published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Heart Failure.
