Children can play the role of caregive when they bring their favorite teddy bear, stuffed animal or doll for a free checkup with Montefiore’s caring doctors and nurses. While there, they will tour a real ambulance, visit our Emergency Department, receive an X-ray of their teddy bear, and learn important safety tips from the Fire Department of New York and NYC Police Department. Free giveaways, health education literature and refreshments will also be provided.

Weight reduction surgery may be the right choice for some adolescents. Our information seminar is open to 16-21 year olds and gives them the opportunity to learn more about the benefits and risks of bariatric surgery. Our experts will present facts about the procedure and answer questions from guests.
Interested participants are encouraged to bring family members, as the weight loss program is comprehensive and includes surgery as well as behavioral, nutritional, and lifestyle changes. Please, no children under 12 years of age.
