Our theme this year, Ways to Better Days, highlights how those facing diabetes manage everyday decisions that affect the chronic disease. From financial decisions to physical activities, recipe changes and portion control of a favorite dish, Montefiore turns its attention to becoming a partner to those on a diabetes healthcare journey. We offer over 70 opportunities this year in Westchester and the Bronx for you to learn more.

1:15-2:15 PM – Ask Your Diabetes Providers Panel: Share your diabetes questions with a panel featuring an endocrinologist, an obesity-specialized physician, a psychologist and a nutritionist.
3:00 PM – Ways to Better Days: Hear how Michael Greenberg, a Nurse Practitioner with Type I Diabetes, shares how he works to make every day better for himself and his patients.
4:00 PM – Teens for Food Justice: The DeWitt Clinton High School program tells us tells us about food justice advocacy and hydroponic gardening.
5:00 PM – Sweet Water Yoga: Join a free intro yoga class at the Grand KickoffThe Diabetes Kickoff Health Fair is open from 2:15-6:00 PM, and features: the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), the Bronx Salad, the DeWitt Clinton Teens for Food Justice Program, Fleischer Institute for Diabetes and Metabolism, Supporting Emerging Adults with Diabetes (SEAD) Program, Risk assessments, Screenings for associates, Food tastings, Rethink Your Drink Boards & Activities (sugary drink education), the Beale Wound Treatment & Hyperbaric Center and educational tables, including information about Diabetes prevention classes you can take, all year long.
