Can Breast Cancer Be Treated Without Surgery?

Dr. Sheldon M. Feldman, chief, Breast Surgery & Surgical Oncology, and director, Breast Cancer Services, Montefiore Einstein, describes how we’re aiming to perform fewer surgeries, particularly as we have better drugs to treat breast cancer. Montefiore is highlighted as a participant in a National Cancer Institute trial looking at whether a biopsy can determine if the cancer is still present after chemotherapy and may help the patient avoid surgery.
