Timothy K. Tiu, MD

Timothy K. Tiu, MD, FAAPMR, CAQSM, is an Attending Physician at Montefiore Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and is board certified in both Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Arthur S. Abramson Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Tiu's clinical focus is on nonoperative management of sports and musculoskeletal injuries, such as osteoarthritis and tendon injuries.
Dr. Tiu earned his bachelor of science in biology at Boston College, master of arts in medical sciences at Boston University School of Medicine, and he went on to obtain his doctor of medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine. Upon graduating, he completed his residency at Tufts Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, then went on to complete his fellowship at Montefiore. His research has focused on ultrasound, sports medicine and e-sports, and he has presented at many local and national forums.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tiu has served as a physician for many sports teams and events, including the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the Boston Marathon and the New York City Marathon.
