Narrative Medicine for Residents

 As part of the Family Medicine Conference Series, Paul Gross, MD, Assistant Professor, Department of Family and Social Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, leads narrative medicine sessions with residents in Montefiore’s Family Medicine Residency Training Program every other month.

Residents are encouraged to discuss and process their clinical experiences through writing, using the personal narrative as a way to keep in touch with themselves and work through responses to difficult experiences in their medical training. Topics covered include stress, loss, and balancing work and personal life.
