Einstein Montefiore Center for Continuing Medical Education (CCME), was founded in 1976. It is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CCME enhances patient care by bringing diagnostic and therapeutic innovations to the clinical environment through professional medical education of physicians, which maintains, develops, and increases their knowledge, skills and competence. The program is committed to the utilization of resources for the advancement of continuing medical education throughout the physician's professional career.
Because of the development of new techniques and treatment strategies, the College of Medicine and Academic Medical Center recognizes the vital importance of the Center for Continuing Medical Education and reaffirms its responsibility to contribute to patient care through the support and advancement of Continuing Medical Education.
Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center, Center for Continuing Medical Education, is both a leading contributor to the international clinical community and, at the same time, it is involved in the delivery of health care in its own community. It has a responsibility to contribute to state-of-the-art education of specialists and researchers throughout the profession, and to the continuing medical educational needs of its own faculty and medical staff practicing at Einstein and Montefiore, Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, Jacobi Medical Center, North Central Bronx Hospital, Bronx Psychiatric Center, Bronx Children's Psychiatric Center, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, Catholic Medical Center and its own community.
Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital and Academic Medical Center for Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Center for Continuing Medical Education has produced hundreds of CME activities and has offered CME credit to thousands of practitioners. Every year, CCME conducts more than 200 meetings at national, regional and local gatherings of clinicians including annual meetings of major specialty organizations, in addition to our Internet eCME activities and enduring materials of every type.
