Biography

Nadine F. Choueiter, MD, is the Director, Pediatric Cardiac Noninvasive Imaging, Director, John Gutfreund H. Fetal Heart Program, and Codirector, Kawasaki Disease and Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children Follow-up Program at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. She is also an Associate Professor at Montefiore-Einstein. Her clinical primary interest is in the use of cardiac magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and echocardiography in congenital heart disease, fetal echocardiography and prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease. She also has clinical interests in the long-term follow-up of children with Kawasaki disease and multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children.

A graduate of the American University of Beirut, Dr. Choueiter earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with distinction in 1999 followed by her Doctor of Medicine in 2003. She completed her training in pediatrics at the Children’s Medical Center Dallas, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2007 and her fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Seattle Children’s Hospital, University of Washington School of Medicine in 2010. Dr. Choueiter then pursued a senior clinical fellowship in noninvasive imaging at Children's Hospital Boston, Harvard School of Medicine, in 2011.

Dr. Choueiter’s research focuses on cardiac complications that arise in children with Kawasaki disease, multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, and the use of cardiac MR in congenital heart disease. She has been invited to speak at many national and international conferences and her research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. She is also a reviewer for several journals including Echocardiography, Pediatric Cardiology and the Journal of Pediatrics.

Dr. Choueiter is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and adult congenital heart disease. She is a member of several professional societies including the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and the Society for Cardiac Magnetic Resonance.
