Pediatric Cancer, Neonatology, Nephrology and Gastroenterology & GI Surgery Earn Spot Among the Top 25 Programs in the Country, According to U.S. News & World Report

NEW YORK – For the 13^th year in a row, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) is one of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children's Hospitals in the United States.

It leads the nation as a top 25 provider of Pediatric Cancer, Neonatology, Nephrology and Gastroenterology & GI Surgery. CHAM’s Neurology & Neurosurgery both rank among the top 50 programs in the country on this year’s list.

Pediatric Cancer, or the Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Cellular Therapy at CHAM, is renowned for providing compassionate and personalized care to children with brain cancer, leukemia, solid tumors and other rare cancers. The team of clinicians, many of whom trained at leading pediatric oncology programs, are sought out for their knowledge and expertise. The division is also highly respected for its extensive research efforts, currently participating in approximately 30 active clinical trials for children with cancer.

In addition to quality care and comprehensive patient and family services, the Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Cellular Therapy recently relocated to a new, state-of-the-art outpatient clinic. The new space features 21 fully-equipped exam rooms, a phlebotomy suite, onsite laboratory for fast results from critical blood tests, and a procedure room enabling patients to undergo routine procedures under sedation without having to leave the clinic. The clinic is not only an efficient space, it is also beautifully decorated, making it a warm and welcoming environment for children of the Bronx, the New York City metropolitan area, and beyond.

The U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals rankings assess hospitals based on performance in three broad areas of quality: clinical outcomes, efficient coordination of care, and providing sufficient care-related resources tailored to particular conditions. The rankings are also based on survey responses from pediatric specialists who are asked to name up to 10 hospitals they consider best in their specialty for children with serious or difficult medical problems.
