Amichai J. Erdfarb, MD, is Chief of Radiology at the Montefiore Wakefield Campus and Director of Quality and Safety for the Department of Radiology. He is also an Assistant Professor of Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Erdfarb’s clinical focus is on CT and MR cross-sectional imaging of the head, neck, and spine, including the diagnosis and evaluation of acute stroke, inflammatory diseases, infection, degenerative disease, cancer, and congenital disorders.
Dr. Erdfarb received his Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in Biology and Chemistry from Yeshiva University in 1999. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Medicine with Honors from the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Erdfarb completed an internship in internal medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael/Yale School of Medicine in 2007. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology in 2011 and a fellowship in neuroradiology in 2013 at Montefiore.
Dr. Erdfarb’s research focuses on radiation dose monitoring and reduction, acute stroke imaging, quality and safety, process improvement, patient and procedure errors, and dual-energy/spectral CT imaging. His work has been published in numerous reviewed journals, books, review articles, and abstracts. It has also been shared nationally at invited lectures and presentations.
Dr. Erdfarb is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a member of various professional societies, including the American College of Radiology, American Society of Neuroradiology, Society of Neurointerventional Surgery, and Radiological Society of North America.
