Dr. Bergang’s areas of expertise include spine rehabilitation, electrodiagnostic medicine and interventional pain management, local trigger point injections and medical acupuncture.
She cares for patients with acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal problems, and back and neck pain. The specific conditions that she treats include sciatica, spinal stenosis, fibromyalgia and arthritis.
Dr. Bergang completed her internship in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in 2000. She then pursued advanced postgraduate training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Medical Center. There she served as chief resident during her final year.
To complete her specialty training, Dr. Bergang was awarded a musculoskeletal/interventional spine fellowship at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2004.
Dr. Bergang is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Dr. Bergang is also certified in medical acupuncture. From 2005-2006, she studied medical acupuncture through the Helms Medical Institute in Berkeley CA., a program co-sponsored by David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the Stanford University School of Medicine. The Helms Institute is the oldest ongoing medical acupuncture training program in North America.
