- Biography
Madhu Sharma, MD, is Attending Physician at Montefiore and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Sharma’s clinical focus is on fetal cardiology, echocardiography, congenital heart disease and preventative cardiology. Dr. Sharma currently serves as the Director of Pediatric Preventative Cardiology Program.
In 2001, Dr. Sharma earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, India. From 2006 to 2010, she pursued postgraduate training at Maimonides Infants and Children’s Hospital, first with a three-year pediatric internship and residency, followed by a yearlong fellowship program with the Empire Clinical Research Investigator program. In 2012, she continued her postgraduate training at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, completing her pediatric cardiology fellowship in 2015.
Dr. Sharma’s research focuses on fetal cardiology, cardiac imaging and familial hypercholesterolemia. She has shared her findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Sharma is board certified and is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the New York Pediatric Echo Society, American Society of Echocardiography and the National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative.
