Research Focus

Dr. Rudolph's research focus is the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in children. NAFLD is a serious public health problem and has a particularly high prevalence among Hispanics. Our research aims to identify non-invasive means of diagnosing NAFLD and stratifying a child’s risk for more advanced disease states (such as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, or NASH, or fibrosis) utilizing novel imaging modalities and serum biomarkers.
