Sandolsam Cha, MD, is Attending Physician, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health at Montefiore and Clinical Instructor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is on prenatal care, routine gynecological care, contraceptive counseling and management of long-acting reversible contraceptives. He provides gynecological surgical care, including performing hysteroscopies, laparoscopic tubal ligations and hysterectomies, as well as trauma-informed care.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Macalester College in 2020, Dr. Cha attended Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2015. He pursued his postdoctoral training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completing his residency in 2019.
Dr. Cha’s research focuses on training medical students and physicians on addressing intimate partner violence. He also has an interest in the application of shared decision making and patient decision aids in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, including topics such as contraceptive counseling, pregnancy options and trial of labor after cesarean delivery. His work has been published and shared regionally and nationally through poster and oral presentations.
Dr. Cha has been inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society, recognizing outstanding achievement in the teaching of medical students. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
