Veronica Lerner, MD is a board-certified gynecologist and fellowship-trained gynecologic surgeon, specialized in providing care for women during their reproductive years and menopause. Her fellowship training in advanced pelvic surgery enables her to implement minimally invasive surgical techniques in treatment of various benign gynecologic conditions.
Her clinical interests include: laparoscopic, vaginal, robotic and hysteroscopic surgery, minimally invasive laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy, treatment of prolapse and incontinence, reconstructive pelvic surgery, as well as medical and surgical management of fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, adnexal masses, and pelvic pain. Additional interests include treatment of abnormal Pap smears, colposcopy and related office procedures, and family planning.
Dr. Lerner received her BS in Biology from University of Colorado at Boulder, and her MD from University of Colorado School of Medicine. She completed internship and residency in OBGYN at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York and fellowship in Pelvic Surgery at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle after which she was appointed Assistant Professor at NYU and later on as Associate Professor.
In her new role as Director of Simulation, Dr. Lerner will work with other distinguished faculty members at Montefiore-Einstein to deploy cutting-edge technologies, provide state-of-the-art treatments, and deliver comprehensive care for the full spectrum of gynecologic disorders. We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Lerner to our Department and to the Montefiore-Einstein family.
