Vikram Brahmanandam, MD, is Attending Cardiologist at Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His clinical focus is on noninvasive cardiology, with expertise in cardiac computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in addition to echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and general clinical cardiology. He also participates in the training of both cardiology and radiology fellows.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in economics at Brown University in 2002, Dr. Brahmanandam pursued his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, receiving his degree in 2007. He began his postdoctoral training with an internal medicine residency training at Boston University Medical Center from 2007 to 2010. He then attended University of Illinois Medical Center, completing a cardiology fellowship in 2014. He completed an additional year of advanced cardiovascular imaging training at Ohio State University Medical Center in 2015, focusing on cardiac stress MRI and congenital CT and MRI.
Dr. Brahmanandam’s research focuses on myocardial strain assessment and risk prediction. His work has been published in reviewed journals and presented nationally.
He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
