Psychiatry Research Institute at Montefiore Einstein (PRIME)
The Psychiatry Research Institute of Montefiore Einstein (PRIME) was established in 2017 to provide an infrastructure for a steadily growing research enterprise. Ongoing and projected areas of research include:
Basic and translational studies using a variety of state-of-the-science and emerging approaches
Clinical trials evaluating promising pharmacological, psychotherapeutic and neurostimulation-based approaches to challenging psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders
Neuroimaging in populations with or at risk for mental illness and substance use disorders
Bioinformatics research relevant to behavioral health and mental illness
Developing an environment that encourages creative, interdisciplinary research that promotes health and wellness and advances understanding and treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders
Supporting a broad base of science and scholarship on areas from neural circuits to mental health policy
Engaging meaningfully with and contributing to the diverse communities served by Montefiore and Einstein.
