Requirements

Thank you for your interest in the Montefiore /Albert Einstein College of Medicine Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service, ERAS. Residents will be selected based on their preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills and personal qualities.

We interview for four First Year Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) positions.

The following lists the materials used for evaluation of all resident candidates:

Trainees are eligible for acceptance into the program after completing a PGY 3, PGY 4, post-graduate chief resident year in Adult Psychiatry or a one-year fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine, Addiction or Geriatric Psychiatry. As per ACGME, residency education in child and adolescent psychiatry obtained as part of the curriculum for general psychiatry may not count toward residency education in CAP.

However, certain clinical experiences with children, adolescents, and families taken during CAP training may be counted toward a fourth year in general psychiatry, as well as toward the child and adolescent psychiatry program requirements. For these experiences to be given credit for both child and adolescent psychiatry and general psychiatry, the experiences must:
