Message from Division Chief and Program Director Audrey Walker, MD:

I wish to warmly welcome you to our website for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore. I cannot think of a more exciting time to be entering a career in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry! We are in an era in which advances in neuroscience, epigenetics and neuropsychopharmacology are broadening our horizons of inquiry, as we hone our skills in thinking developmentally and creatively in order to help children and families.

Over the course of their two-year training, our fellows rotate on cutting-edge collaborative services with pediatrics and work with a college-mental health service, as we are committed to treating transition-age youth. Clinical work at Einstein/Montefiore with children with autism, complex interfaces between ADHD and mood disorder, embedded school-based programs and integrated pediatric care represent only some of the outstanding rotations our fellows are able to take part in. In addition, in 2014-2015 we introduced an elective in Child Global Mental Health.  This has allowed our fellows to travel to Uganda and Colombia.

So, enjoy the site, visit ‘virtually’ with our wonderful trainees and faculty and again, my warmest welcome to you.
