The Department of Emergency Medicine sponsors a two-year fellowship program in Emergency Medicine Research that offers didactic training and practical experience in epidemiology, study design, biostatistics, data analysis, grant writing and research ethics.
Fellows work in conjunction with our department's active senior investigators, whose work focuses primarily on treatment of pain in the Emergency Department.
Fellows are required to design, execute and complete a research study within the two-year period. The fellows can avail themselves of the full research resources of the Department of Emergency Medicine. These include:
In addition to ongoing guidance provided by senior faculty, all fellows have a dedicated mentor who works with them to integrate the Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP) coursework with the practical mechanics of conceptualizing, designing and running a study in a busy, multicultural ED.
At the completion of the fellowship, fellows enroll in the CRTP of Albert Einstein College of Medicine that confers a Master's of Clinical Research.
