James M. Tauras, MD received his medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University where he performed and published vascular biology research in Dr. David Hajjar’s laboratory. Dr. Tauras completed his medical internship, residency and cardiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center.
At Montefiore, Dr. Tauras served as chief fellow and was awarded the Dr. James Scheuer Teaching Award for outstanding teaching as a cardiology fellow and the Program Director’s Award for clinical excellence as a cardiology fellow.
Dr. Tauras has worked principally with the CHF group and in the ECHO lab at the Weiler division. In July of 2013 he assumed the role of CCU director at the Weiler campus.
