Recovery from a cardiovascular event such as heart attack, angioplasty, bypass or heart valve surgery begins while the individual is hospitalized and continues even after hospital discharge. Both a physician, who is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has extensive training in internal medicine and cardiology, and an exercise physiologist closely monitors all sessions.
