 Chicago, Ill / New York City, NY (March 19, 2012) - UHC announced the addition of Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY, as a new principal member.

Safyer, MD, President & CEO of Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The 1,491-bed, nonprofit academic medical center is the primary teaching hospital affiliate for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York City.  Montefiore recently ranked among U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best Hospitals" for 2011 - 2012.  Montefiore Medical Center is the 116th principal member to join UHC, which also has an additional 260 general members.
