NEW YORK CITY, NY (September 1, 2011) Montefiore Medical Center has announced the appointment of Lynn Richmond, NP, as Vice President, Organizational Effectiveness.  In her new role, Ms. Richmond will be responsible for maintaining a system-wide perspective and advancing opportunities for greater alignment and synergy internally and externally.

"This appointment recognizes the contributions Ms. Richmond has made in her role as Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the President and her 15 years at Montefiore," said Steven M. Safyer, MD, President and CEO of Montefiore Medical Center.  "She is well known in our organization and has deep roots in our clinical quality and policy programs.   She will also continue her role in ensuring that the institution's key messages reflect Montefiore's mission, values and priorities."

Ms. Richmond has held increasingly senior leadership roles over the years, including directly overseeing the Montefiore School Health Program and the Development Office.  In these capacities, she has successfully demonstrated her commitment to stewardship, transparency and outcomes-based, patient-centered care that cuts across silos. 

Ms. Richmond is a Nurse Practitioner and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Science from Columbia University, a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from the University of Michigan, and a Master's Degree from Hunter College.  She is faculty in the Montefiore-Einstein Center for Bioethics and teaches at Einstein College of Medicine.
