NEW YORK CITY, NY (September 15, 2011) - Montefiore Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Solometo as Vice President, Clinical Services - Surgery Care Center. Ms. Solometo will assume responsibilities for Perioperative Services as well as oversight of its related clinical faculty departments.

Ms. Solometo has extensive experience in physician practice management, hospital operations, managed care contracting and service line management. For over 10 years, Ms. Solometo has led the very successful Cardiovascular Service line at the University of Pennyslvania Health System (UPHS).

Prior to joining UPHS, Ms. Solometo served as Vice President for Allegheny Integrated Health Group's 28 primary care practices. Earlier in her career, she served as Vice President of Graduate Health System/Founders Health Care in Philadelphia where she created and developed the organization into a network of 114 physicians in 34 primary care practices.

Ms. Solometo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Temple University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Management and Marketing from La Salle University.
