Best Regional Hospitals - U.S. NewsMontefiore ranked 6th in the New York metro area out of 180 hospitals, according to U.S. News & World Report's first-ever Best Hospitals metro area rankings. Among the 62 nationally ranked children's hospitals, The Children's Hospital at Montefiore ranked 2nd among those located in the New York metro area.

The New York metro area analysis included data from hospitals in Long Island, Westchester County, and Northern New Jersey. While Montefiore was already nationally ranked in three specialty areas — Diabetes and Endocrinology, Geriatrics, and Neurology and Neurosurgery — in these latest rankings, Montefiore was recognized for its "high-performance" in nine additional key specialties:

Nationally, The Children's Hospital at Montefiore was ranked for the third year in a row as one of "America's Best Children's Hospitals" in the 2010-2011 edition of U.S. News & World Report. We achieved the distinguished place as first in the region and among the top 10 in the nation in Kidney Disorders, and second in the region and among the top 25 in the nation in Neurology and Neurosurgery.
