Montefiore Welcomes Oncodermatologist Dr. Beth McLellan

Despite advanced targeted therapies, the toxicity of cancer treatments can still affect patient’s skin. “Side effects that can include any painful infections and graft versus host disease are often quite challenging. They’re sometimes among the most troubling that patients can face,” Dr. Beth McLellan explains. “It is vital that they be dealt with immediately so that patients can effectively continue their treatment course.”

“One of the things that is most exciting about joining Montefiore is that the team at the Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care is so dedicated to making the whole cancer experience go a little easier for patients by offering them such a wide variety of services in one place,” she adds.

Dr. McLellan has been interested in oncodermatology since the early days of her training.
A Northwestern University honors graduate, she attended medical school at Wayne State University, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. 

Dr. McLellan completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Health System, where she spent a significant amount of time on the Hematology and Oncology services.  She then completed her Dermatology residency at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.  While there, Dr. McLellan:

Dr. McLellan received additional training in oncodermatology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and at the Institute Gustave Roussy in Paris.

Dr. Beth McLellan is available to see oncology patients with any dermatological problems immediately, often on the same day, so that they can quickly address the issues at hand and ensure continuous treatment and improve their quality of life.
